Great Crab Season

We did a crab feed at a friends house. So I took a bucket and went down to the Santa Cruz Harbor. I bought 7 live crabs. I boiled them in salted water using my deep fry turkey cooker. Then they were chilled in the ice chest for later that day. They were cooked in 2 batches and made quite a mess. Next time I will steam the crabs. I hadn't cooked crab in years, but will from now on. It's not that much work, and you know it is absolutely fresh when the crabs come off the boat. Thanks to the Captain of Sea Breeze.
Sophia is picking out her crab. I was surprised she was not scared of the crustaceans.
Here's the dinner table before we demolished the food. We had fresh crab, garlic bread, and Caesar salad with Elaine's homemade dressing.
Everything turned out great and a little crab was left over for crab cakes the next night.

One of the toughest races is for the fastest time around the World in a sail boat, SOLO. On January 29th, 2011, Thomas Coville and his 105 foot trimaran Sodebo, left Brest’s Port du Château trying to beat the world record set in 2008 of 57 days, 13 hours, 34 minutes and 6 seconds. This is a video of him at the start almost pitch poling. Check it out, about 38 seconds in.
